An
MBA course can cost you anything from RM15,000 right up to
RM250,000. Most locally conducted MBA will cost around RM15,000 to
RM35,000. The price of a Harvard MBA will cost you around
RM250,000, excluding lodging and other expenses. It really comes
down to how much do you need to spend on your MBA.
Let's assume that you are an executive, currently having a full
time career, wanting to take up a part time MBA in Kuala Lumpur.
The expenses will include :
1. School fees alone will cost your RM15,000 to RM35,000
2. Books - management books are not cheap, if you were to get the
top 5 in your book list, it will cost you about RM3,000 to RM4,000
over a 2 year 16 subject course.
3. Photocopying - you will need to photocopy some parts of
journals or books for your assignment and research. It can go up
to RM200.
4. If the MBA course has off site residential you will have to
fork you additional money for accommodation and food. A one week
residential in a local hotel/resort will set you back by RM1,000
to RM1,500. Do check if the fees cover that. If the residential in
overseas you will need to pay for your air ticket too!
5. You'd probably / most likely need a personal computer as well.
This will cost you another RM2,500 to RM4,000. A notebook computer
will cost you RM6,000 to RM8,000.
All in an RM35,000 MBA course will cost you up to RM45,000 to
RM50,000.
Most of the institutes allow the students to pay on an installment
basis. You are usually required to pay up fees that are due before
the semester begins.
You can finance your MBA either from your personal savings or take
a loan from your spouse, parents or the bank.
